need help

I am 23 years old, with a $65,000 budget. I really want a 996TT, but I can only get one with a lot of miles and kinda beat up. I don't really want my first p car to be like that. Should I just get my second favorite car, a 2002 C4s until I can afford a better 996TT. Or just wait and save for the car I really want, and drive something cheap for a year or two? What would you guys do? Thanks

When maxing out your budget to get a $65K TT. Most likely is a 01 and without warranty. Anything worng will bite you an arm and a leg for it. Also I will suggest not hanging out here, cuz you will spend tons more money on mods. I will suggest wait to save up more. I don't think 02 C4S will full fill you need. 650rwhp 350Z is not bad for 23 years old.

Have you considered a 993tt??? If not, I would wait about 6 months, with the 997tt being delivered, the 996tt should drop further...

RTracing,

You already have an awesome car that is much faster than many 996TTs. Why rush to get yourself into a slower car?

BTW, I know a guy with a 620 rwhp Supra that is looking to run a car of similar hp. I told him about your car. He is interested. Are you interested?

It's to late, I already spend too much on mods.
I already figured I would spend at least $5k on mods, my over all budget is about $70K. Even that is too little for good 996tt. My favorite car has always been Porsche. I am over the Z, I want to move on.

If you're mind is set on a Porsche, then wait until you have enough money for the 996TT. I don't think you'll be happy with a "second favorite" car when you know the 996TT is almost within reach.

Check out this car: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=15

$72,500 for a 2001 with only 8000 miles (tiptronic though). It's listed by a private seller so call him. I bet you could probaby get him down to....maybe $67k or $68k (if he's motivated to sell). After taxes and licensing, you won't have much money for mods but that can always come at a later time. I think Auto Trader's a good source for used cars. That's where I found mine. Take your time and don't get excited and jump into anything without thinking about it first.

Hey man, i did the same thing, built my M3 to the fullest extent but always wanted a porsche turbo.. At stg 2 let me tell you, this car is abnormally fast, maybe its mine but i never thought i could get in it everytime and have the thrills i do. Definitely for for what you want, a turbo. I waited as well and a good deal came around, BUT watch out for those deals, to this date i have spent like about 2k in maintenance, finally im extremely happy with it and its like a brand new car.

Goodluck, let me know what your looking for and maybe i can help a bit.

Martin

How many miles is High Miles for you? I think you can find a nice 01 Turbo in your price range. Check out ebay, also there are two TT in the for sale section that come to mind. That are around $65K If you hold out and watch the forsale section of this site someone who has most likely modded their car will be selling their TT at or around your budget.

BTW the C4S is a very nice car, especially for someone in their early 20's I would at least test drive both cars before making a decision. For under $65K you can get a pristine low mile 2002 CPO C4S.

You would only be happy with the C4S for maybe 6 months, then long for every turbo you saw drive by. I say wait a bit till you have the funds, otherwise you will just end up spending more money, by first getting into a car that was your second choice. Nice Z by the way.

Since you already got the mod bug for turbos going to C4s will be a miserable compromise. If 996tt is the car you really want and is presently attainable why wait. I've seen many nice 996tt at $65K.

yea Id wait for a 996tt. Here is my advise...save and save and save and try to buy one that has upgrades on it already some evoms stuff, exhaust, giac rims, techart etc otherwise your gonna be hating life driving a stock 996tt, and beleive me if you think you spent a lot of money on the 350z......haaa that was chump change compared to what everything for the p cars costs. Look up the upgrades, compare the hp level you want to the money you can spend and take your time....I wish I did, I am 22 and I spend 88 G's on a 03 with 6k miles STOCK to the *****, and guess what I wish I would have waited to find something with some sort of upgrades or have more money to have done some mods to it. Save your pennies and wait modding a p car never ends and will put a big hole in your bank account !!!
