Best present ever: Driving School

So its my b-day coming up (thank you, thank you) and my wonderful wife is buying me the best present I could have hoped for: Driving school.

So now the question is which one? I live in South Florida but I'd definitely travel to go to a better one. I'm looking for a course which will help me wring the most out of my car. Getting a racing license wouldn't hurt either.

Suggestions............

If you're looking to go down the racing path, probably Skip Barber. If not, I've yet to hear anything less than stellar reviews for the Porsche Driving Experience.

Expect to pay a couple of grand + travel and lodging either way.

PDE. A friend has done it and he raved about it.
I've done other driving events and they're ... nice.

It is a great present! My wife bought me driving school at the BMW facility in Spartanburg, very very good.

If you haven't been to any schools, go to the PDE at Barber MotorSports in Alabama. You get your own 911 for the two days, work with not only world class drivers, but excellent instructors who are very good at communicating with you. You also get decent classroom instruction and explanations so you have a better understanding of why you should be doing certain things.

I had never driven a 911 at speed before I bought my 996 twin turbo cab, so I made going to the PDE a condition of the sale.

Good luck and enjoy.

I wish I had a wife who bought me such gifts... come to think of it, i wish i had a wife

seriously, ive heard great things about PDE and that would be my choice. You get to drive a 911 (similar to the car you drive everyday) + not have to worry about damaging your own vehicle.

I just did the Masters (advanced) PDE last month in Birmingham. I highly recommend it.
