Hey guys,

I just ordered a set of 19" IForged Monacos for my Seal Gray GT2. I ordered them in glossy black two days ago and now have second thoughts if I should have gone with flat black instead.

I really have a hard time visioning either color on my car and need your help. I figure flat black will look meaner and more aggressive, but on the other hand, the glossy black wheels would stand out more and have more contrast, but will it make my GT2 blingy? I need your help and prefer not to flip a coin.

By the way, these are the same wheels Kerry (habitat) put on his turbo, except I am going with the black finish versus anthracite. Kerry, I hope you don't mind me borrowing a couple of your pics?

Which version of black do you think will look best overall on my GT2?

Glossy Black or Flat Black?

GLOSSY all the way ! IMO the flat black takes away from the wheel makes it look old. But some ppl like it flat black instead of the glossy. Worse case, put em on glossy for a few weeks and if you dont like em re do em in flat black. I picked up brushed hre's and I am going with the glossy black in a few weeks myself.

I just got my wheels back in glossy black and I love it!! The car's being detailed right now. I'll post pics when it's done.

 

I have a set of I-Forged on my Z06, and I have a nice dull finish face, and it looks awesome with the high polished lips. Mine are different though, they have a texture to it. You should ask Vince about that finish. I will take a picture later when I get home.

 

Im been your position 2 weeks ago. My wheels been refinish and on the fance between gloss or matt black center. At frist I choose gloss and after search for more pics with black wheels. I found if the body is black, it will look perfect with gloss black wheels. If not, the wheels will be too bling for Porsche and especially yours is GT2. Finally I have my wheels paint in semi gloss and coundn't be more happy with the out come!

I'm guessing you have a shot peened finish. I had a set of CCW on a Z06 that shot peened anodized and looked very racy.

 

just got the flat black on the Iforged Aero's and it looks awesome.

 

Got mine in glossy.

 

Hey guys,

I changed my order today and decided to have my wheels finished in Hyper Black (FLAT) instead. I think the flat black Monacos will look awesome.

Now the hard part is waiting 4-6 weeks for them to be built. I will be sure to post pics when they arrive.

i am a big fan of black wheels, both my cars have them.

BUT, i always get matte black.

to me, they look like plastic, when they are shiny, glossy black.

 

on the 911, HRE 549r's

 

and on the 360, hre 545 r's

Go with the flat blk...It will match all the lower trim and your wing on your GT2...

 

I def. say flat black of some sort, maybe the semi gloss, that is HOT!!
