Actually the weight problem does pose some issues, me and the car together go about 3870 on a scale at the dragstrip. So the ENZO definately has the weight advantage!

wow, equal drivers in a CGT or Enzo would smoke any 3870 lb 996 TT on any track - with turns and braking requirements. i thought maybe you'd gotten your car down into the very very low 3Ks like chad (and the enzo, CGT). as well, the CGT (don't know about the Enzo) has a MUCH lower center of gravity and is much more rigid than a 996 tt.

You have to subtract 230 lb's for me but still heavy at 3640. If I really wanted to lighten it I could but I have a huge stereo system that weighs a bunch and I am not interested in having a super light tt. That's why I added so much HP! So I could keep all my creature comforts and still be fast!

Buddy, I thought you were being a bit overzealous. Like I said before, if we’re ever out on the track together, I definitely want to keep you in sight, and if I ever find you in my six, I’ll pull over if I have to to give you a point by (assuming you didn’t already blow by me before I noticed).

...

Third, tires, 245/345 vs 225/295.
I thought Buddy had 265 & 315 fronts and rears respectively...

yep, it's gonna take a whole lot more than 700 hp and suspension and brake mods to make a 3640 lb TT competitive with an enzo or cgt - especially given equal drivers.

You guys and your dyno numbers. Those numbers you post dont mean much. I will however like to see a 0-200 kph time on the Red Beast. The Ruf 590hp is a bit over 10 seconds. Regarding on track times, even if you have JRZ triple adjustable etc etc, you dont have the low center of gravity and chassis stiffness to make a 996 handle like these cars. I dont know what you are thinking about being close to these cars on a track.

I'm not posing a challenge since I dont own or haven't owned the Enzo or CGT, only a very fast RUF that we tested in Germany for Worlds fasted car in Auto Motor und Sport and R&T and a few others.

I do!

Hey remember I am the crazy one, insane as someone called it. I will try anything so bring it on.

This is an open challenge to any Ferrari Enzo owner who has the ***** to mix it up with the BUDMAN! Anytime, anywhere. My guess is even if your car is better there is no way in heck you can drive it like I can drive the RED BEAST! So as Mills Lane use to say

LET'S GET IT ON!

I realize not all the information is out on the Carrera GT and the Enzo. Let's look at what is out. Porsche and Ferrari have exchanged a Carrera GT and Enzo for evaluation purposes. My understanding is the Carrera GT does out perform the Enzo on the track. It is a better handling car. Now, the Carrera GT was run at Nuerburgring and the number was seven minutes and forty seconds (7:40).

Gemballa has run their 996tt and it's time was 7:32. Techart has run theirs and was going to beat Gemballa's time when it crashed. Eight seconds is a life time out there. Yes, a 996tt can beat the current Carrera GT's and Enzo's. No, the Gemballa was not stock. They had as much money in the suspension as they did in the motor.

A stock 996tt suspension will not have a chance against a stock CGT or Enzo. I don't believe it makes any difference how much power it is packing. In addition, the 996tt needs to get down to a fighting weight of at least 3200 pounds if it wants to be competitive. A 996tt with proper engine, suspension, brake, wheels, tires, weight reduction and suspension tuning has an excellent chance of beating both the CGT and Enzo in their current state. If and when modifications become available to either of these cars it may be a whole different ballgame.

7:40 was on a wet track. the driver said he could easily shave off 10 secs on a dry track. so, the cgt would still beat the gemballa which is to date the very fastest tt on the ring. i'd submit that buddie's 3600 lb 700 hp beast doesn't stand a chance in hell of running with the cgt on the ring.

ben, lj

Well, someday the CGT will get another chance. I'm not saying they can't do it. It just hasn't. My car has superior suspension, brakes, wider wheels and tires, is lighter and has more power than the Gemballa that set the record. Yet, there is no way I can claim to beat that time. The best I would venture to say is, I would be competitive.

I love theoretical arguments! It's like watching NASCAR, round and round. Hopefully some of the things being discussed can actually happen, like Buddy getting to meet a CGT on the track. We are also forgetting that there are some wicked Supra's, Skyline's etc. out there that probably would hand our TT's their head. I know, it's not a Porsche. Do you really think the Enzo driver bought his car b/c he thought it was the fastest car on earth? He probably has/had other fast cars. Comparisons are inevitable but the CGT, Enzo, McLaren, etc. are in a whole different league. Are they worth the money? Certainly if you've got it they are. I won't spend my last 450-650K to get one though.

Owning a CGT or an Enzo is not just about the numbers, it is about the whole experience. This class of cars ensures that every outing is an "event", crowds will materialize out of nowhere, and grown men will be left slobbering like idiots...

These vehicles don't need to tangle with modded cars, their presence speaks for itself.
