I believe not, you need at least a 295 in the rear, unless you want to get into using spacers, etc..
Not true. I know people who have run the Bridgestone S-03 285s on their TTs without a problem. In fact, prior to the Cups, that S-03 was a desirable tire for the TT -- much better handling than the stock P-Zers or Contis (and the S-03 wasn't made in a 295).

The concern I would have with the set-up advertised on e-bay is not the 285 rears, but rather, the 245 fronts. I know it can be done, but it probably requires fender rolling and perhaps more.

I would be more concerned with the VALIDITY of this ad over anything. He shows two types of wheels, has no prior Ebay history, sounds a bit fishy in my opinion. Too many scam artists on ebay lately.

MTBR is infamous around these parts
Wheel offset is what matters.

You need to find out what the front and rear wheel offsets are for these wheels. Since the seller makes no mention of his 996 being a C4S/Turbo/GT2, you would need to use spacers to fit these wheels on your car.

Pass on this set.

using 245 and 285 here...^_^
got no problem with it at all, but am thinking of switching back to 315 for the next tire change. Can't stand the gaps on the rear inner wheels when it's jacked up..

as always, the help is appreciated. They're too narrow.

Thanks
