Problem with Michelin PS2s

I now have had my 2nd PS2 split on the inner side wall right at the edge of the rim. (size 315 x 25 x 19) I gave the shop the benefit of the doubt on the first tire when they told me that I must have run over something. That was three months ago. Now my other (left) rear tire has the same problem. It just went flat last night during normal driving, and I KNOW I did not run over anything this time.

Has anyone else had this problem with these tires? Has anyone made a successful warranty/defect claim with Michelin?

I would check with tom kerr... if I remember correctly he split a sidewall and Michelin stood behind the tire. Good luck, Kevin

I had some Pirellis develop cracks on the inner sidewall. My theory is that the negative camber, short sidewalls, exhaust/turbo heat, and heavy rear axle loads all contribute to sidewall cracking. It should be covered by warranty.
BTW, it was NOT fun dealing with Pirelli on warranty issues.

How wide is your rim? It's critical that a tire this low profile be put on the right size wheel.

How worn down is the inside half of the tread, ie: how many miles are on them.

Give our customer service dept. a call, even if you did not buy them from us. 800-428-8355 ext. 360. They will get you pointed in the right direction.

Michelin almost always stands behind their products. I am sure you will get a new one under warranty. Please keep us updated.

Damon: On that note, I've got 2 tires doing the same thing. These are the ones I bought from you about a year ago and I've put maybe 3 thousand miles on them. Thoughts?

Regards,

Mitch
