More problems

So the pcm issue was taken care of last week and I was enjoying the car. However Sunday a error message appeared stating instrument cluster failure please service. Turned the car on and off a few times and then took it for a drive. Eventually the fault disappeared and all seemed well. This morning the issue resurfaced so I took the car in. To make a long story short the entire instrument panel needs to be replaced. Never has the delivery of a car been so disappointing. Porsche North America has been good through the process but I feel this whole situation is unacceptable. Not really looking for any advice. Just need to vent a little. Has anyone else ever had such major problems in a brand new 911?

I remember when this guy...

had some major issues and then (clearly) went public with how Porsche was basically giving him the run around. Think he eventually got his money refunded.

New problem as of tonight. Problems with both key fobs. I literally have to stand one foot away from the windshield in order to lock and unlock the car. Can't do it from the side or behind the car. This is getting ridiculous

I would take it in if I were you, you shouldn't have to go through this big of a headache for a Porsche.

That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to drop it off at lunch tomorrow, demand a loaner or a cpo and tell them not to call me until the car is perfect. Connecticut lemon law states if a new car is in the shop with three or more issues (now 3) for a total of 30 days the car is lemon and must be bought back by the manufacturer. Tomorrow will be day five out of ten of ownership. At this rate I may be in a new car by the end of October. Not how I wanted to experience my first porsche. My wife keeps telling me that it's just a car but I literally feel beaten and defeated.

Sorry to hear the problems - I can imagine frustration. Good luck with it. Do you have any mods done to the car?

Wasn't nick Murray in CT too?

Fortunately no mods yet. Porsche cant say I did anything to car to cause these problems. Furthermore, haven't had the chance since the cars was in the shop every day except over the holiday weekend

So sorry to hear all the problems, Nick Murray had a bunch of problems and was refunded his money. He went with a new M4 but missed the Porsche, need to find out what he got.. Good luck getting this taken care of.

WOW...sounds terrible. Must be really bad luck

Well, Porsches are great. But I did have to go through my share of the quirky German electronics the first few weeks when I got the car....hopefully after the first few tough months things will be smooth and good in the future

I can't imagine how frustrating this must be for you; I really hope the dealer is able to resolve the problems in a reasonable time frame.

Best of luck to you.

In some jurisdictions the 3 time issue vis a vis the lemon law the problem must be safety related. I had a Lincoln replaced 10 years ago because they could not find a leak in the break fluid system.
