are the BBS racing wheels ok for extensive street use. From what I hear they are awesome track wheels but can be banged up pretty easily with some bad potholes. I am going to pick them up as track wheels, but was hesistant as considering them for street.

They say for the Magnesium BBS's they should not be used on the street, otherwise with my BBS CH's or LM's ive driven through Manhattan, on long drives, hit potholes in the middle of the night coming home from a long drive and no bends, breaks or anything, i love the superb quality that BBS's have to offer, relatively lightweight and great looking, i love them.

I do think that even their magnesiums are stronger then other competitiors also!

BOYRACER,

The aluminum center versions are much more suited for public roads and daily driving.

The new BBS Race aluminium wheels are just as light as the Magnesium race wheels.

We have LMs on our 993 and they have held up amazingly. I wonder about the BBS racing wheels though. I am considering them as my first wheel choice for the GT3 but fear the chicago pot holes.

If it is the Aluminums i wouldnt be worried one bit, Magnesiums like i said, no matter what brand shouldnt be on a street/daily driven car, or be extremely carefulL!

If they bend I am blaming it on you bro jk! Now I have to decide whether I will mount track tires on stock rims or these rims. I know the BBS racing wheels are much lighter and would benefit more on the track but boy they look so good I would love to sport them on the street.

Honest to god, cant go wrong with track tires on stockers!! Stock wheels for the most part are rather light and so strong, BBS's can be similar weight, not that much lighter i would think and just to nice to mess up on the track or to not use for the street, of course, that's if you have the money for several sets and those are a dedicated track wheel/

see I always make a mess of my track wheels and that was my exact thought process on not using the BBS wheels on the track. Probably much cheaper to get the stockers refinished. My track wheels on my bmw were a mess, on the 944 they were a mess and I am sure the track wheels on this car will end up the same so I think the stock ones are def the way to go.

The aluminum centers are actually 200 gr ( 0,44092452 Pound lb ) lighter
then the magnesium centers.
