yet again another perfect example that the 911 IS the yardstick by which most other cars are measured. A corvette is a bad-*** car in it's own right (plasticy and clunky albeit) and certainly NOT slow but even they go way out of their way to go somewhere, pay good money to get a license plate frame made and then have the ***** to actually put it on the car! There's a guy around my house with a hopped-up Evo that has the same frame.

I think they might both work at the same restaurant!!

 

Craig...the car in the picture above is a 2006 Z06...that will will hand a stock 996TT/997TT it's ***. 505bhp/3100# > 480bhp/3500# > 415bhp/3400#.

 

Sorry but you sound stupid right now, you might be able to say that, or actually can about the 996tt, but the 997tt has proven to be so far way faster then a z06, we havent seen highway pulls, but 0-60/100 and 1/4 miles times are much quicker!

 

show me where a 997TT has posted a better 1/4 mile time than a Z06 and I will buy you a cookie. Dude, do you have any idea what a Z06 is capible of? The best mag 1/4 mile post I've seen is 11.5 @ 127. I have seen a guy post up 11.2 @ 127 with nothing more than drag radials...he went 11.3 @ 127 on the stock tires.

 

997tt was already clocked at an 11.4 on the cold icey ground in a magazine already! Almost every magazine cant get below an 11.8 for the new Z06 and even less impressive 0-60 numbers, not that it matters just FYI. They are impressive, but not how much people make them out to be, where the **** is my cookie

Yea it ain't a Porsche but it is a work of art.

His plate is correct more times than not. A stock Z06 (current model) will beat most Porsches. Period. I'm not a Corvette guy and will probably never own one. Facts are facts. Are there faster Porsche's than his car? Of course! But most aren't, and you guys who are hiding blindly behind your shiny Porsche badges are just as lame as anyone else who talks smack.

Before i say this, i will add that I love the new 997TT and GT3. Now I will say that the new 997TT's ET is very impressive, however its 120MPH in the 1/4 is not. If this mph is correct, the 997TTs entire 1/4 is made on its 4wh drive launch, from a roll, a Z06 with it numerous 125mph+ 1/4 trap speeds will hand the 997TT its ***.

 

And if you go back to the original thread where this was posted, that was my number 1 main concern with this test and its numers, this is from a roll comparing trap speeds from 997tt and z06 and which would pull on the highway (which is pretty clear to see), but to the other guy, i still posted up a run from the 997tt that was under an 11.5

 

I agree, from a dead stop, it would be a good race, from a roll, the Z06 will walk away from the 997 if that mph is correct. Im guessing the mph might be a misprint, from watching the video of the 997TT and Gallardo. I havent found out whether the Gallardo in that video is a 06 or an earlier model. If it is an 06, it will be running 120-122 in the 1/4, and the 997TT was pulling on him pretty well. If it is an 04-05 Gallardo, then id imagine the 997TTs mph is pretty much on, as they are running 117-118mph in the 1/4.

 

FWIW,

1. I recall the subject car being a C6, but I could be mistaken. My comment about the 996TT being faster was based on my recollection that the Vette was a C6.

2. I wholeheartedly agree that the C6 ZO6 is a tremendous achievement that deserves our respect and praise. I personally love the car.

3. IMHO, regardless of how fast your car is, only a complete jackass would mount a license plate frame that disparages other brands. Moreover, if you are going to claim superiority in such a brazen and offensive manner, you better be willing to back it up when someone takes exception.

4. This guy has a great car, but he could use a large dose of humility and respect for other brands. You don't see Alex driving around with a license plate frame claiming superiority over all other cars on the road.
