Did you bother to read the rest of the thread or other responses from me and the guy who posted find a time for the 997tt that was better thena n 11.5, which was the best MAGAZINE TIME porsted by a C6 Z06, and my comment saying here ya go, 11.4 beats Z06 mag times, but tis kind of hard to compare individual owners who bring it to the track because the 997tt isnt out there like that, yea..

I dont hate the C6 Z06 and dont understand where are you guys are pulling this out from, i think they are a masterpiece for corvette's #1, and for upcoming american supercars in general.

Exactly.. And to crazy13, since when are porsche turbo's not good on highway pulls?! There acceleration on a highway pull to me is far more impressive then a low gear pull, i look at my speed from 3-5 and it goes something like this 123-137-145-152-166 lol, these cars are impressive all around!

I cannot wait to drive a C6 Z06, im sure i will love what it has to offer, although i hate that its seats rock back and forth!

LOL no im not hostile! Anyway you cant base what actual Z06 owners do at the track times wise to the first test for a 997tt by a magazine. All we could do was compare the best z06 mag time to the best 997tt time out as of right now, and the TT is lower, that's all. To compare a mag time to owner's times are just silly, who knows what they had on their car, tire or mod wise and how they were shifting (powershifting), we will not know until 997tt's start hitting the street.

But i do not doubt for a second Z06's will not pull from a TT with a trap speed of 120mph, and that wont be a slight pull either, i hope it was wrong!

Anyway i just thought you were implying as a vetter hater once before (you) , you came to realize its a fast great car, meanwhile i never said anything bad about them. Blah, sorry about that, w/e, that's why i hate arguements over the internet, i look at things more then what they are. My fault.

 

I think the new Z06 is awesome! I have seen a few around and would love to make a few runs against one.

Agreed! I love the looks of them, cant wait to drive one but still, they just arent totally my style.

Ill, i was talking about the 996tt being bad at highway pulls because of the AWD. I am nto saying that it is not fast, I am saying that the excess rotating mass limits its abilities and is not the best design for the application.

 

I was wondering if I would get dragged into this discussion I have been watching it to see what direction it went in, and since it hasn't really become a pissing match I will weigh my opinion...

Here is my opinion on it based on my experience with my plate...
1. I have nothing against AMG cars and think they are unbelieveable (heck my familly has owned almost 10 of them in the last 3 years!)
2. The plate was just for fun with no seriousness attached
3. Every AMG owner I have run into has given me "props" on the plate and thought it was great. I have never once had an owner get offended (even when I was posting on the MBworld forums under my normal user-name!).
4. I have never lost to an AMG so I guess the plate holds up (though I have not run into a 65 yet and should I lose I will still keep the plate because as I said its all in good fun).


So basically my opinion is, its not really a big deal to have somthing like this on your car as long as its not taken seriously and its not offensive to others. I personally think the vette frame is cheezy, but thats just me... My plate was a little original and creative (and has been widely copied IE: 4RE ETR, Enzo ETR, etc.). I have no issue with this guys license plate, its his attitude that is the problem IMO.
Well there is my opinion... Don't take this stuff too serious guys... There is always someone faster out there, don't get caught up in this stuff...

PS- I have beat 2 new Z06's, but let me tell you, it took all 530HP of my level 2 to get them! Could only pull 1 car on each (1 was at highway/high speeds the other was a lower speed roll to around 80). AMAZING CARS!!

Ahh i see, i guess i dont have anything to base it off of (RWD Turbo) since i havent done any highway pulls in a GT2. All i said is, in my experience the car is even more impressive from a highway pull as it is from a dead stop or low MPH roll. Car just climbs and climbs , but i see where you were coming from!
