2001 TT w/GT2 is probably worth 80k?? Updated with Pics!

I don't get it, my 2001 Turbo is probably only "worth" $80K or so (no matter how many options or few miles), yet I go to my dealer yesterday and he has a new C4 for 90K. It just doesn't make sense to me. What is wrong with this picture? I'd MUCH rather have the Turbo. (even without the glovebox <gr>)

I rather have a used Turbo over a new Carrera 4 anyday, I have seat time in both and could care less about a glovebox.

Chucksweet,

Your car is worth more than 80 if you don't have a bunch of miles. Just wondering how many miles do you have?

I wonder if the huge rise of the Euro vs. the dollar will usher in a significant rise in new Porsche prices, thereby increasing (or at least stemming the decline in value) of used Porsche prices?

How many miles?

I have 2300 miles on my 2001 Orient Red TT. It is a beautiful car and full of options. It was one of the very first in the country.

I put a GT2 nose and tail on it last spring. Tomorrow, we start installing a Stage 4 (Thanks Stephen), PSS-9 suspension, and new SSR wheels!! I can't wait!

Usually car prices stay pretty stable even with changes in currency market. At least, that was the case when the DM-US spike back in the early '90s.

Drive that C4 1mi off the dealer floor and see what it's worth afterwards! But I'd gladly take the '01 TT with miles that a new C4.

The mileage is great, the color would be a harder sale.

Here a bunch of pretty cool pictures of the project coming together last spring.

Obviously, this is before the new wheels and lowered suspension. I'll try and update more as soon as I get the car back.

I think I paid about $9000 for the parts and about $1500 for the labor. They are true Porsche GT2 parts - not aftermarket. It really is a first class effort. Not a flaw in it. The mechanical stuff was almost as hard as the bodywork. As you can see from the pictures there was a fair amount of rerouting of radiator lines, etc.
