Clearly, gearing effects this number somewhat, but it does remove highly variable launch variables. As the start of a database, I've compiled a list of times from "Car and Driver"
Ferrari Enzo.............................................. .......7.0 http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtest...nzo-page3.html
Ferrari F430.............................................. .......9.5 http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtest...430-page4.html
Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0................................9.4 http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=4

Chevrolet Corvette Z06(C6)..............................9.2 http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtest...z06-page4.html

imagine that S7 with more than the 5psi of boost it's running! I think some 3's and 4's are definitely possible with 20#.

The Murcielago's 12.1 sec time seems awfully long.

Thanks so much for taking the time to compile this data. This is one of the reasons I recommended the 60 to 130 test; times are available from the professional car testers.

Note that some cars, like the Z06 and CGT, only use 2 shift while others, like the 430, use 3! However, the 150 ms F1 shifting in the 430 is so fast that it doesn't add too much.

The Saleen only needs one shift, so that's one reason why it looks so fast. I would guess .3 seconds should be added for each Car & Driver shift.

BTW, the Mosler used 3 shifts. Now that car is fast!

Nice work. Now we can compare some of our own times to these cars.

some more numbers from the saleen are 60-145 in 7.7 seconds and 100-145 in 4.6 seconds.
