As a business owner, I have had people saying they want something so you hold it for them, other offers have come in, you say no, but the original purchaser has not come good with the cash! Have to see it from traders point of view also!!! Don't get me wrong I know where your coming from but I think this is just down to bad timing! You sound a top bloke!
Well, I certainly think they were within their right to sell them when they got a better offer as I'm not one of their existing customers, so they don't know me from Joe Schmoe the window shopper. However, knowing they have my number and are full well capable of calling me, the honorable thing to do would be to put in a quick call--a first right of refusal if you will. Again, not the most expediant/profitable thing to do, and--like I said, not being an existing customer--they don't own me that call. Perhaps he should have explained the rule to me better: unless you're paid-in-full, all deals are subject. Again, that is fine; it's their prerogative to run their business as they see fit. I had just thought I was dealing with a retail outfit and not a trading desk .

No worries, Alex! It's just as well it didn't pan out. You know I've got enough projects to last me a while Like I said, pretty much the only time I traffic in used parts is with you guys, so I was used to the royal treatment. It's OK though--no Ebay-style trading of used parts for me. I don't need the headache dealing with the credit risk just to save a buck! I think I'll stick with the Sharky Exchange.

Alex,

Well, while I have you...get your calender out and give me a couple dates that would work for you guys to "hose" my car. PM me. James says to go black so it won't attract attention from the smog jerks. Also, do you or anyone else recommend a place for alignment/corner-balancing?

Thx, David

YoWils- we do have a few parts flying in and out. Some days in the TV room upstairs I'm sharing a movie with 4 GT2 bumpers, 3 wings and on my way down to the loo, I have to be careful not to trip over interior parts!

Hehe. You know right back at you. The only other Oak I hold in higher regard than you is Oakenfold- otherwise you are the one and only.

Since we can clone a perfectly good sheep like Dolly, I see no reason why we can't clone James. We have the science. We have the technology. We have the erector set. So why not dammit! There's simply no reason I should have to wait a month to get my car in and spend my money on mods when I want them NOW! NOW! NOW!

Alex, just wait until he's asleep and get some DNA while he's snoring. Then we're all set. I love it when I solve seemingly insurmountable problems.
Do I get a consulting fee for this?

Don't think that we haven't thought of that one before. Just like Mr. T though he hates needles so there's no way to put him to sleep

Consulting Fee would be only be acceptable in the form of Show Wining Lady friends.

I just realized I missed my hard-fought appointment yesterday for installing the sills. Am I going to get charged for the no-show, doctor?
