Max altitude that stock 996TT can maintain full boost?

Hello all - I've just come over from the rennlist site. There is an amazing amount of 996TT activity here!

Does anyone know the max altitude that a stock 996TT can maintain full boost? One feature that I have always liked is that turbo cars can compensate for the 3-4% horsepower loss per 1000 ft of altitude by spinning the turbos faster to achieve the same max boost at sea level. There is a limit of course, and eventually the DME unit will allow underboost at very high altitudes to avoid overspeeding the turbos. I read years ago that this point was at 8000 ft for a 1986 944 turbo............
