Congrats...free space should be filled quickly
...you do have other toys to drown your RUF void with
....I am faced with a similar dilemma...I have also decided to part with my 996tt....however the new toys are already inbound and I have already envisioned the final result of the 997tt after the mad scientist is done with her...and my checkbook...
As for your name change.....how about 'THEMD' Attachment 36244

The only bright side to this, is that it frees up a garage spot.....

Thanks guys, I thought I had the car to replace it all lined up, but some honest opinions from folks in the know helped me out big time. I had lined up an XJ220 out in California and was extremely excited at the prospect of acquiring one.
During the course of due diligence, I spoke with Don Law in England (of Group C Jaguar racing fame) and he was incredibly honest about the car as a whole and its issues. Quite frankly, he felt I should stay away from US cars because very few had been serviced at the right intervals. Also, the car's belts, clutch, fuel bladders, etc were very maintenance intensive and costly repairs for which parts were always hard to find.
I spoke with the US service center for XJ220's in Muncie Indiana, and they effectively actively discouraged me from buying it !!!! Stated they weren't sure they were going to keep working on them, and major services ran from 30-50 k. Essentially too much of a headache even for them. Now, I'm a little thick headed, but I can eventually take a hint...these cars are problematic.
So, my search will continue for now (albeit not for an xj220)...I'm thinking old school for the next one...mid 60's James Bond stuff !!!!! (I had a restoration project up until recently, but sold it...time to find something that is at a better starting point).

Hmm, all of the info doesn't surprise me one bit about the XJ220..
Anyway i say go for an older Ferrari classic, like the one's that you posted up from the show you went to. I love them!
