PROTO-TECH in Florida is the WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would never trust DAVID HART!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That guy has the worst reputation!!! He once told me that he has a customer in Miami that his Proto tech car was blowing all the Miami guys modded turbos away!!! He is such a dick!!!!!

I would not trust him with fixing a mini bike.

No good words about Prototech but it is known that over the years
they have built some very fast cars!

I have no affiliation with them/do not know them.

There is a Protomotive car (Scotts) on stock internals running close to those numbers. If all that's required is swapping an intake system and sending the ECU for a flash, how good does the installer have to be to set the car up? I mean really, a good nights sleep in a Holiday Inn Express and I would be up for the job!

You are out of your mind dude. David Hart has built 2 TTs for me, and I am extremely happy with his work. What was your issue in particular (other than that you may not have liked his bragging)?

prototech

Thanks...Well, the reason for trying to search is that I just asked him to start on another major project, so I was wanted to know whether there were any details that I should be aware of.

scratched the car in 2 places while I was there waiting 2 days for the bogus repair
They claimed the exhaust was an Al Burtoni but when I arrived home to inspect it turned out to be a TUBI
price changing throughout the transaction
Owner Scott was very rude to my wife and jacked the price up 10K and told her the salesman had no right selling the car to us as it was his personal ride and was not officially for sale even though car was on ebay and on their website for sale
whole staff except for the salesman himself were very rude and acted like they were doing me a favor
I could go on and on but those are the main things...
I wanted the G so bad I bought it anyway, threw it in my trailer and drove home to repair it myself...many hours and tons of cash later it was then PERFECT
I am usually the last one to lash out about anyone on the open forum but these guys are just the bottom of the barrel
ron, I have heard very similar experiences from others about them - i have dealt with a few of them in person and that was enough to know never to buy from guys that want to act like they are doing me a favor when spending 100K+ of my cash... IIRC, they ended up "going out of business" then reorganizing with autobahn motors in delray.
