Question about Sport seats

Do any of the Porsche sport seats offer full power (lumbar)with heat and memory retention? Most sport seats I have seen advertised for sale only had power recline but manual front/back movement. Thanks.

I have sport seats in my 02. It has heat but manual front and back, electric recline. I think the newer cars get a upgraded sport seats thats alot more money(fully articulated I think they call it). BTW...I think the sport seat is the most comfortable seat Porsche makes, alot better then the GT2 seats....(in my humble opinion). If you have the standard seat ...upgrade you wont regret it.

The sport seats are same exact seats used in GT2 and GT3s.

ARI you sure about that? I replaced my stock sport seats with GT3 seats. My stock sport seats had electric front/back/recline/memory...no heat.

M3CAB,

go with the gt3 seats! One of the best upgrades I ever did. It makes the car feel completely different. You are so connected to the car. Let me know if you want to give them a try...

Do you know the weight of the GT3 seats? How much of a savings would it be over regular power seats?
How are the GT3 seats on long drives?

I think the GT3 had the sport seats standard or the lightweight GT3 seats as an option...not sure though.

Thanks, and will probably take you up on the offer. How are they overall comfort wise? I can imagine long drives could be tough though. Also do they have any kind of height adjustment or do you have to get a different kit for height....remember I am only 5'8" tall.

M3CAB,
I might be able to answer some of your questions. In the process of swapping out my OE GT3 sport seats out for the Euro GT3 version (light weight). My OE seats are manual front to back slide, height adjustable with electric tilt. Factory custom red stitching w/P logo in headrest. These offer high comfort and support. I drove across country with the OE sport seats and they are extremely comfortable. (Thinking about selling them now)
As for weight: The Euro GT3 seats weight @37Lbs. each. Best guess by lifting @20Lbs difference vs. stock OE sport GT3 seats (as configured above). As for your height: I too am height challenged at 5'7" so, lack of height adjustment was a concern. After installation of Euro GT3 seat noticed that slider is designed with ramp. As you move seat closer to the dash seat elevates higher. Move it back, it lowers. Nice, simple and therefore, accommodates your long legged girlfriend who is taller than you (and looks better in your car than you do too, LOL.)
Good luck,
D.E.

Thanks alot for the info. I actually want to swap my supple regular seats for the sport seats and not the GT3 since I think they would not really suit me...have never tracked the car yet. As for weight, I am not too concerned since once again I am not looking so shave time off of track events...yet!
You had me cracking up about the height thing and taller long legged girlfriend comment...thanks for the good laugh!

How does the fit of the regular seats compare to the regular sport seats? It seems like ive heard they are not as close fitting as the regular seats through the back area. Im pretty skinny and the regular seats fit nice and tight.

From the looks of the regular seats and the sport seats, I would think the sport seats have thicker and harder bolsters. I feel the regular seats are very comfortable, but I tend to slide a little side to side with sharp turns. When I had my M3, I loved those seats.....firm and really held you in place compared to the Turbo's seats.

GT3 seats are about 30lbs lighter. They are perfect for smaller framed folks (not sure how well they would work for a big dude). They are very comfortable to me although I have added some custom padding. 4 hour trips no problem (most I've gone). Way better than stock in terms of feeling like you're part of the car IMO.

There is a difference in euro GT3 seats and US Sport seats (optional in tt, standard in GT2 and 3. Here a pic of the US sport seat.

They have more pronounced shoulder pads

Mine has tilt feature for the seat cushion, manual fore and aft and electric tilt if it helps.

I ditto M3 seats are probably better (especially when equiped with side bolster adjustment feature)

M3CAB,
As long as you are looking to swap, would you be interested in my OE GT3 Sport seats? They are the same type like the pix in ARI's thread however, mine have the P-crest in the headrest and have custom red stitching? Being a smaller framed guy, the leather doesn't even show those creased stretch marks that are sometimes evident in a used seat. Leather is still tight, clean and very mint. These are out of my '04 GT3 W/14K miles.
Daryl
