Nice car. But the ability to position the controls in front of any of the three occupants seems useless to me . . .

 

Totally agree 100%. Plus if someone gets pulled over while they are driving, the cop cannot prove who the driver is if there are 3 people in the car.

interestingly the flexibility of positioning controls allows Toyota to build the same production car for all global markets... LH, RH drive and tracksters... nice car/concept...

 

Thought of that, but I'm still guessing it's a gimick that won't make it into production. The liability and complexity issues will probably far outweigh the cost of producing two models for different markets. And for tracksters, being in the middle isn't really a big advantage, although you'd doubtless choose it if it was offered.

Still, never hurts to think outside the box.

 

So wouldn't that be an advantage becuz you could never get a ticket? Even if you did, it'd get thrown out in court!!!

That is a pretty good advantage to being able to move the controls. Also if the driver is starting to fall asleep, the passenger can just take over too.
