That's because your temp gauge does not reflect the real temperature. As a matter of fact, if your engine temp WAS only at 180 (most likely it was 200F+), your engine would not be running at it's maximum efficiency. Porsche gauges, as well as most other auto makers, not only display less than actual temperature but do not respond quickly enough to temperature changes. Any serious racer is advised to install a quality sensor and gauge so they know what their engine is actualy doing.

Even though your gauge may seldom move from 180F, your engine temps reach 215F+ at times.

You could also glue your gas gauge at 1/2 tank and you would never need to add gas to the car.

I can definetly see this as being true, somewhat like the factory boost gauge I'm installing several gauges; including EGT, air/fuel, boost(in psi), oil temp, etc.

Ryan, I heard your 160 MPH pass was basically a 1/4 mile burnout

Ya I went 160 and never hit all the gears. Most of my other passes were 10.0-10.2's at 120-130mph letting out. My car will NOT work on Drag Radials at all....

Stacey with a 1.8 60ft ran 10.2@154

Gotcha, I guess 3500+ pounds and 1600+ HP doesn't work too well with radials!

What tires what Stacey running on his Viper?
