Took the GT2 back to the Dragstrip, again

The temp was low 90's, went to Firebird this time for Friday Night Drags. Firebird is famous worldwide for their poor track prep

I ran on straight 100 octane tonight. I ran the car 18 times in about 3 1/2 hours. This thing ran like a champ, the temp gauge never went a hair over 180. Absolutely no heat soak despite the hot temps. Man I love this GT2!!! The clutch and overall feel of the car make it much better suited for motorsports than my turbo. People at the track were amazed at how fast and how consistant it was. My slowest run was 12.2 @ 120 and the fastest ET was 11.85 and the highest trap was 124!

I was by far the fastest street car there along with a 2300lb Cobra 427(who I ran the 124mph against) I've attached the timeslips and an DA adjustment (for Scott )...Scott I only factored 1/2 altitdude like the NHRA says

When I learn how to drive...watch out

BTW...I'm car #21

The setups seem to be pretty comparable, the Stage 4 (in my turbo) seemed a little faster but the lag seems about the same. I'm running Fabspeed exhaust (which I love!!) Thanks BBGT2!

looks like those two set ups are the same... if u can get into 1.7s 60ft.. I did after xxx amount of practice.. then u will be at 11.5 seconds... exactly what I think this car with those simple mods should do.
so u ran it at 1.3 bars??? correct?
that k24/18g turbo is also on scotts car that ran mid 10.s.
just liek the gt640 evoms turbo that is also utilized on the gt700.
good run.

So what are the differences between the k24/k18 hybrid turbos vs. the gt640 evoms turbos? Is the main difference that the gt640 evoms turbos leave more room for going higher in HP (aka gt700 and higher)?

I think the main difference is that Joe's GT2 is still breathing through a straw(stock air pipes) while scott's 996tt has the 'breathe right' protomotive solution!

Great times and speeds!, and at Firebird in heat with a slippery track. Did they run the mini dragsters blowing oil out their pipes before everyone again? That track has been slippery every time I've been there. That GT 2 is going to be a monster when it cools off around here.

What did the Cobra have to pass Tech to let it make passes? I figured a car like that wouldn't pass Tech?

One thing that really impressed me the most about most GT2 is that you track the car all day and the temp gauge never go beyond 180. 18 runs at the srip is a lot of beating but for this car it's an everyday thing.

He has 4 or 5 point harnesses and a flame jacket/pants and helmet, they teched him to 11.5 like me. You've gotta come next time in yours!

The car never showed any signs of stress at all, these cars are truly amazing!

No not quite. The k24/18g also is used in the 700 HP protomotive cars as well. Scott(divirexxtreme) is running these . its when u upgrdade the fuel system, Tbs, intecoolers, etc... is when u get the full benefit. Just like on the evoms gt700.
they both are great turbos. just a different set up...
