Clutch for 996 TT with 704 RWHP and 685 Ftlbs Torque
I've also used the ATS carbon triple plate in my 600hpatw impreza wrx. Had no issues whatsoever and still retained decent driveability. Beauty with carbon....the hotter they get the better they hook up!
The ATS is noisy as all heck. Both engaged and disengaged. I have run it in my car. It also is very twitchy. Has very little modulation. Holds the power fine, but it a 3/4 up and a 1/2 inch modulation type clutch.

We are looking for some advice in the clutch as till last friday we were using an EVOMS Sachs stage III clutch system which partially burned down after second gear. We are currently drag racing and in our last meeting this past friday before the clutch went into slippage, we have a 1.6012 in the first 60ft.
Could some one here let us know if for our horsepower applications have been use already triple, dual clutches such as Tilton, quartermaster etc?
Anyone who can recommend us which type and brandname to use, and also its availability/pricing?

Francisco

Hi BuddyG,
We have last friday video and time slip that we can post so you can see the launch and the 60ft time, but unfortunately we were having our first drag pass with the new setup and our car as you may see from the video from second on the clutch was all slipping, the gears can engage but virtually the clutch was burning itself. Let me see how can I post the picture and video.
We have been lately working on my car as we have been having a great match with a local racer in puerto rico, Victor Gonzalez, which he has a 2006 Corvette z06 with 300 HP of NOS and a total of 740RWHP and 760 ftlbs of torque. In the past we have just been rolling from first gear and the Porsche is ahead till third gear by 1/4 of a car and then suddenly the Z06 explodes its rear transaxle.
They already fix the vette so thats why we were tuning my car to be ready for next friday. Our 996tt is really flying all the way with even those ig numbers from the Z06 vette.

Hi Guys,
just to give you an update, our car finally was fixed with the new ceramic clutch offered by Tod Zuccone and did a 10.61 with an unhealthy dragstrip, almost no chemical in the strip.
When we went to the second past we did 1.71 in the 60Ft but had a slight wheelhopping, eve with our BFGoodrich radials and unfortunately the rear right axle not only received atorsion but broke in two pieces.
Well it was kind of a badluck in this pass as we hope the car will do flat 10 with accomplishment.
No we are asking as in the past I have seen, it looks like Evoms and other tuner groups, were designing and creating stronger axles for our big HP cars, could you give me some enlightment in regards to stronger axles and which other components you think are necessary to take a look for an advance provisioning?

Evoms has a custom axle set up... BTW- u broke the axles because you hooked with the drag radials.... if u were on street tires u would hop and not hook as much.. thus not breaking ur axles...
Great run...

Hi Todd,
Any news on the availability of the enhanced (strenghtned) rear wheel axles for the 996 TT? Any test so far with clients?
At least I read from Renntech that he will be testing his set this week.
I am looking forward for a set as we already overcome the durability of the stock ones.
