How to disable 996tt spoiler?

Is there a way to disable the stock spoiler from raising at speed?

Thanks in advance!

Yes. You can pull the fuse which is located down by your left foot. The fuse also operates the trunk lid.

I'm curious to know why you would want to disable it?

You have to pull a couple of wires underneath engine lid. A very very kind man from this site passed me on details, I will see if I can locate them and pass them on to you!

Stevo,

Thanks for your message. Funny thing is...I already pulled the wires underneath the decklid leading to the spoiler. The darn thing still rises at 75mph--don't ask me how. At first I thought maybe the force of the air at speed caused the spoiler to lift, but I am able to lower the spoiler with the dash button. I do get a 'spoiler failure' message which resolves itself upon restart. Out of curiosity, what did you do with the wires once they were unplugged from your spoiler?

Ghostrider,

I have a Gemballa decklid on my car and prefer the way the spoiler looks in the 'down' position. I figure the new decklid provides ample downforce without the spoiler in the 'up' position so I am sacrificing function for aesthetics

I too have the Gemballa, but keep mine up! reason not only looks better but I was having a level problem with spoiler (hydraulics) All I done was snip 2/3 wires and bridged 2 (I think!) I just neatly taped it up and cut the wire back so they easily can be reconnected!
