Did you happen to use any directions/ pics to do a step-by-step tear down?
I have a word document that is a collection of stuff from various sources I can send you but I don't have enough post to PM you. If you want it just PM me an email address and I will shoot it to you.

The rear deck can be removed by 4 bolts. Just mark the hinges before you remove it so you can put it back on without have to align it. I put it upside down on a padded blanket on top of a black and decker workmate and was able to slide the wing up close enough to connect the power connector.

I am going to start doing it,thanks landjet

I give them a squirt every couple of months. When I installed my new rear wing, one side stopped going down and I thought I would have to rebuild the system. A friend suggested WD-40 on the struts before trying a rebuild and it worked. Never had a problem since.

Thumbs up Forget the Hydraulics

I tried Mike's technique and is actually pretty easy process. However, I discovered my problem was the hydraulic pump. I also read in one of the hundreds of threads about a kit to fixed the wing all the way up all time and discard the hydraulic system.

I have plans to move to a GT2 wing and didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on a system that probably is going to fail again. So I did a little research in Ebay and found the site that sells the kit. Compare to the original systems this kit is very inexpensive and very easy to install.

It took me less than 2 hours to install and looks great. I'm not trying to promote any seller but this is a cheap fix to a costly repair. You can find the site in ebay under "996 TT Fixed Spoiler Rear Wing Kit". You can see the results in my avatar.

It doens't look like the ebay guy is carrying the kit anymore.

Doeas anyone else know who sells a kit to keep the wing in the up position?
