lost p car key

how dumb is this started the p car to let it run last week.... and now the key has disappered el goneo .porsche wants $400.00 for a new one anyone help?????

egbert is infamous around these parts
sounds like the need to replace both keys, door locks and ignition barrel to me, otherwise it's going to be bye bye P-car one night.

(I'm assuming it disappeared from the car ie was stolen)

hmmm.. I know they program the key... so maybe when they reprogram the new one.. it changes the code??? so ur old one will not work?

If there is no danger of someone miraculously matching the key to the car, then order a new key and have it reprogrammed along with your 2nd key (assuming you still have the spare key). This should only cost about $120.00. They will reprogram both keyless entry remotes. If in fact the lost key ever finds itself to the car again, the person will only be able to open it manually, but this will trigger the alarm and kill the power to the ignition. I think you should be safe, as I have had to do this already.

thanks for the thoughts ..my dealer priced a new key and computer set up a $400.00 plus my towing cost.the cost made me think i would relook the entire house. and there you have it!!!! found that all keys lost end up somewhere in the hall closet... will look there !st next time

I always leave mine unlocked with the key on the dash lol
