The CL65 was modified, i believe cranking out circa 650bhp and torque numbers that are immense. (750pounds per feet)

Once your rolling weight isnt so much a factor, gearing, and aerodynamic drag are the main factors.

Both cars will do about 205mph when let to run to their limits.

The CL65 was modified ? Whose program was it running.
It only gained 46hp/12lbs tq more than stock.
For sure that isnt a Kleeman or Renntech program he's got running in there.
Both cars looked sweet flying. I have never driven a Ruf anything but my brother did have a CL65 and the thing did haul *** once it gripped.

It looks like the two cars are near equal other than the punch. Whatever the case it must me fun to have snow on the ground with sub freezing temps for testing. We need a drag strip with the same conditions.

I wanted to see the RUF in the windshield rather than the driver's side window.... That was a little too close.

That run was exactly playing to the strengths of the CL65, dont worry the 550 r turbo is pretty fast

 

I wonder if Ruf will make a version of the 997 TT...call it an RT-TT
