This is what Hamman7 Have to Deal With

Next thing you know the Honda boys will start comparing Civics to Carrera GTs.
Your very first post in that thread (#33) is where the comparisons start (his RX-7 to the several hundred thousand dollar Heffner and Protomotive cars
) and where you introduce yourself to the thread by proceeding to disparage and stereotype his car. He wasn't making any any comparison or touting how his car was better than yours. Even when you guys did start arguing about racing heritage (which was as close as that thread came to a friendly debate), you would insert little personal stabs like this, "I don't see the point in arguing with you, if you think Mazda or any Japanese manufacturer comes close to Porsche in making sportscars or race cars, you are truly misguided." Oh and this, "Anyway, no need to argue. I'm sure your Mazda is a nice car. I personally would rather own a Porsche GT2 over any jap car. It really is a superior car to the best from Japan in almost every way, and if you actually drove one, you'd probably think so too." is what you call a backhanded compliment.
Why not have one of those friends who you argue with about cars over? Let him read the thread without you in the room and then ask his opinion. You've got some completely objective opinions being thrown out to you here and you're still not seeing it. Maybe if it came from one of your friends, you'd get it.
(and yes, you own an MB too - p.s. disparaging your own personal vehicle does not counteract your affinity for putting down other people's vehicles.)

Arguments are not a bad thing if engaged by two or more intelligent people. I argue with my friends all the time about cars, I don't see anything wrong with that.

They are very nice cars"

Rep point for you!!
Those guys are enthusiasts just like us, a little friendly performance comparison is OK, but to start name calling and brand bashing makes all of us Porsche owners look like the stereotypical snobs that they think we are.

Debating the facts, comparing the numbers and discussing subjective opinions can be a productive endeavor. However, when name calling and/or brand bashing enters the picture, the dialogue quickly heads south. The irony is that Tyson has an incredible command of the facts -- far better than most (certainly far better than I) -- and, when presented in a respectful manner, his positions are well supported and difficult to refute. Sans the name calling and brand bashing, he is a master debater.

You can't really be mad at the MBworld guys for questioning the validity of Hamann's claims about VRAlexander's car, they haven't been shown any concrete proof yet. If someone from their forum came over here and was bragging on a 1400hp SL65 that ran 9's, I think that more than a few of the 6speed members would be asking for tangible proof.
Peace. Don't want to get involved in this.
The only thing that I find amusing is the 1400HP figure for Alex's car, next thing you know it is a jet fighter.
The only reliable figure seen was the engine dyno graph of 860FWHP or so at 1.3 Bar, more boost does not always translate to more torque, except perhaps on a 6 second dynojet run or similar. Where is this 1400 number coming from? Internet chat?
The 60-130mph would have been in 3 seconds if so.
