Tyre Choice

Im looking to put some R-Comp tyres on the factory 18" TURBO rims. Will be used solely for motokhana, tarmac rally, sprint track work etc.

What are you guys using? Sizes, speed ratings etc.

thanks

Many good choices, IMHO I have gone with the michelin Cup tires, they seem to tolerate more heat cycles. they are tricky however with warm up required. but that same feature keeps them from wearing on the way to the track. need to be careful in rain.

I'm going to be putting on Toyo RA-1s this weekend. 245/40/18 & 335/30/18. You need GT2 size wheels.

Let us know what you think of these tires. I am also thinking of Toyos in the future.

Zip, we will all be interested in how those HUGE rear tires do! But they are on a custom build wheel correct?

Yes Tom, they are custom built wheels, but to GT2 specs. I have bought a heat gun and fender roller. Plan to get them on this weekend.

Been in a viper gts acr with a professional driver on a road course with RA1's and a Z06 with michelin pilot cup's, two different cars BUT the RA1's IMO were better , much faster at heating up and grip while colder...

I believe people stay within the factory sizes, no need to really go much wider in the rear, if anything a bit wider in the front for better turn in/cornering speed and grip!

Sizes are 225/40-18 / 295/30-18!
