Really, that is very cool, because I am interested in the Gallardo, but when I called them (about two months ago), they told me that they have only given two test drives in their entire existance. The must have changed their policy, regardless, I will probobly drop by even if they wont let me test drive it, just so I can see it in person.

I'm not a big fan of the Gallardo, but I see something inherently wrong with owning one and didn't realize this until last night. Last night I was eating dinner at the CPK in Westwood across the street from Gypsy Cafe right near the UCLA campus. There was a blue Murcielago parked in front of Gypsy in the red zone and I'm assuming the owner of the car was smoking some hooka/drinking some tea there on the patio. Well, some guy who thought he was a real hotshot rolls up in his silver Gallardo obviously not aware that the more $$$/nicer Lambo was right around the corner and he gets on it hard in neutral and lets the engine sing a bit. I looked around and NOBODY, I mean NOBODY gave a crap about the cheap lamborghini. I felt really bad for the guy at first, but it's his own damn fault when he could go get a Murci barely broken in for the same price.

PS- I just re-read my post and it came across as very negative to the Gallardo. No offense to owners, just not my cup of tea.
I am IN LOVE with the Gallardo...Had the TT market not been so soft Id be out of mine and into one of these in a heartbeat....Yellow with two tone ylo/blk suede interior and all options except e-gear...
I saw a Gallardo on LIE 2 mos ago-by far the sleekest sportscar on the road. nicest line angles I've ever seen. love my turbo but in person the Gallardo gets the top prize, IMO

the big advantage the gallardo has over the tt is the gearbox. the gallardo has a 68mph first gear. first gear in the tt(especially the x50) is just there to test the rev limiter. the italians have always geared first long so that it is usable. i think the 930's had a 55mph first gear, but now porsche is worried that poor drivers would toast too many clutches w/ big torque, awd, and a long first gear.
i wonder if anyone has regeared their 996tt?

I was in Orlando yesterday and went by the Lambo dealer. They had just received no fewer than 6 Gallardos, all still on the lot. 3 yellow (some with bad interior combinations), 2 black, and I pearl orange with partial orange leather interior. Actually, the orange car was pretty cool.
