What will they cost 10yrs from now?
Hello. Just wondering what a 996TT will run say 10 yrs from now? I retire in another 6-7 and am wanting a 993 or 996. Current prices for 964's don't seem bad considering their age but I highly doubt 993's/996's will go for around the same. Your opinions?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Overproduced? - I thought that 01 was 4000 cars, 2500? in 02, 1200? in 03 and 500? in 04 - that would be 8000 cars (not sure of some of the later production #'s) - the 993tt was 6000 total wasn't it?
Besides, overproduction means lower used prices now. If you bought new, then yes, a massive deprec hit - but used now (already taking advantage of massive deprec hit due to overproduction) compared to used later should not be influenced by the overproduction - it just makes the original MSRP a distant memory.
Also, compare the (relatively) rare 1994 964 3.6 turbo (400 in US) vs (relatively) plentiful 1996 993tt - always seemed to be a 15-20K difference as they depreciated........

bond,
i like your thinking. thats why I walked from an 03-04 TT new to an o1 and am, God willing, going to have a great time with my new hobby: mods. I seriously doubt any 996TT would soon become an "A" list collecter car due to the numbers of them available, but I will say they are one heck of a strong car and though mine is stock in power mods, the car seems so tight. Nearing the 24k mile mark and feels much the same as a new car to me. Anyway, it seems that many of the 993s n/a have hit a plateu and are demanding prices higher than the older 996s. My guess is that if the TT over time get a great reliability report they will be sought after for their overall package
erformance, looks etc...
