I did both the regular and Masters along with Panoz Racing School. I highly recommend PDE. Personally, I was more comfortable getting a street car closer to the edge than the Panoz school car when I was 1st starting.

Instruction is top notch and the cars help accelerate the learning curve based on how confident you feel with the predicatability of the car. I felt @ PDE the instructors allowed more aggressive driving if you progressed as the program went from session to session.

On top of the learning element and thrashing someone else's new 997, we had a great, great time. Different people with different goals in mind came through the program with me and my friends but we all share the love of Porsche's.

I have two sons and if they earn the opportunity, I will send them to PDE.

As far as the price, if you progress to some form of PCA/SCCA type racing, you will learn that the cost of the program will be well within line of track time utilizing someone else's car. The instruction and great lunches are added benefits!

 

I just came back from doing the 2 day basic with a friend. It was great. Right now we are both considering signing up for the Masters program.

It was a great experience. You get to try out just about every Porsche model but you are in the 911s the most. You do autocross in a Boxter S, practice heel and toe in a Cayman S and you get to do some serious backroading in a Cayenne. Sorry but no Turbos.

Don't look at it as a racing school because its not. Its an incredible opportunity to take some street Porsches to their max.

I haven't stopped thinking about it since I finished the course.

Another thing I learned from the course is...wow, do our Turbos kick ***. The difference in power is huge. And I haven't even changed out my ECU yet.

Its a lot of money but I'm glad I did it.

By the way, according to the staff Porsche is definitly a 2 syllable word.
