Thanks for the info...ideally I would like to get together with a local 996TT owner who has these mods before I have them installed on my car.

Congrats! While your car is in Oakland, send it to Sharkwerks down the road and get some mods done before shipping it to IL.

Is sharky's shop near by? I would have def. had him check out the car before I finalized the purchase if I knew he was right there. At this point, I don't think I can have any mods done since I'm wiring the funds tomorrow and they won't release the car until they have 100% of the funds. The car gets picked up on Saturday so not really much time for mods.

Nice ride man. Best of luck with it.

Now get in here http://www.bumperplugs.com and get painted rear bumperettes, bumper and door plugs, and short shifter.

Your post was a few minutes too late...just ordered the short-shifter earlier today from Brandy Wine Porsche. I'll be ordering the bumper plugs from you for sure!

Thanks Jamie. I've done my fair share of cross-country driving in the 2004 and 2005 AKA Rally. I would have considered doing a road-trip and made a vacation out of it, but I'm just too busy with work at the moment, so shipping the car was the way to go. I'm having VIP Transport trailer the car from Oakland to Chicago.

Congrats Awais. Instead of shipping it home you should send it over to Sharkwerks first for a few tasteful modifications. You know it won't be stock for long. BTW, looks great.

Maybe you glean some more info on this topic. What could a race shop do trim the internal bumstops within the shock housings? How high is your car from the highest part of the wheel arches to the floor (easiest to meaasure).

I have a X73 alignment with FVD spec PSS9s.

I feel like my car tends to bounce off bumps in the road when the suspension is loaded up in a turn. Pretty unsettling on the chasis.

While we're at it, my car exhibits some off throttle oversteer especially in decreasing radius turns. Not difficult to catch (and the PSM does a great job of intervening if it's on). I raised rear tire pressure to 40 PSI and that helped a lot. I'm going to try 44 R / 36 F next. Using the slow in/fast out method seems to work much better.

I am no race driver, but feel that I have more skill than the average joe for sure (which isn't saying much )

That's a common problem with PSS9's, its usually when you are extremely low though, weird!

I hear you man !!! I had PSS9's for a while and after experiencing the harsh ride (when I cranked it down to the stiffest setting), "pogo'ing" on the long sweepers, I moved on to Moton Clubsport. Night and day difference.......

However, I will say this much: it really depends on how you drive , where you drive and for most poeple PSS9's are more than sufficient. Just not for everyone, thats all.
