How LOUD is your EP Stage 2 Loud exhaust system ?

I ask, as I am not sure weither to buy the EP Stage @ Loud or EP Stage @ Quiet exhuast system ?

I currently have a Fabspeed exhaust system on my TT and between 55 - 75 mph the exhuast has drone and it makes having a conversation with a passenger a bit tedious.

Any advise ?

Thanks and PLS advise - JIM

Get the EP2 Loud, its actually the perfect volume, not too loud to wake your neighbors up on early morning drives, but loud enough to sound like you're driving something with some *****, sounds great from idle to near redline. The sound is ideal with little to no drone, of the 3 exhausts I had (Ruf and fabspeed Gen3), this was by far the best.

It's important to note if you are going to use the exhaust with K24 or the smaller K16 turbos. I've driven a K24 x50car with the EP2 loud and it was a bit too loud for my taste and a little too boomy in 2-2.7K range and made normal conversation or listening to the radio a bit difficult. Most of your normal driving will fall in this RPM range. At full throttle it sounded awesome, albeit still a bit too loud for me. My choice on a large turbo car would be the EP2 quiet. I can't speak for the K16 car. I think even Stef at Europipe will echo this sentiment. Both the Loud or Quiet exhaust have the same back pressure so the performance will be the same and it just depends how much civility you want. It seems that most people on this forum prefer loud "in your face" exhaust as you will see from the posts. Exhaust are very subjective and everyones ears are different. I have a RUF exhaust and like it due to its civility but others will feel exactly opposite. My suggestion is to hear an exhaust in person to hear which one plays the right "music" to your ears......Good luck..

Funny thread...how times change, eh? Not many new EP2s these days I estimate.

JIM-

You really need to hear it in person.

I was convinced I wanted a quiet. I was 'on the hunt'... but no used EP2 came up...when a LOUD came up, after months of looking, I just bought it- I figured I could always flip the loud if I needed to. But I love it.

Find someone local for a listen

A

Thanks for your email and message, as you put in to words exactly what I was hoping to hear from another Porsche TT owner. So it sounds like my only choice is the EP Stage 2 QUIET.

Thanks again for your candor and clarity. Hope I can return the favor sometime.

PS. Remind me what color your TT is ?
What wax do you use and prefer on your TT ?
I ask, as my TT is black/black and I am looking to find a good top coat wax
for my TT, as I recently had it compounded, clay bar'd, cleaned & waxed. So my
last step now is to put a final top coat for the ultimate shine, and am not sure
sure what wax/product to use ? I hear and read good things about Klasse,
Pinnacle, Soveriegn and P21S - any thoughts ?

Not sure who this msg is directed at but I just went to an Adam's Detailing Clinic they put on last week and was quite impressed with their products. You might want to check them out on line at Adamspolishes.com and on Youtube. A lot of professional detailers use his products. Their Carnuba paste wax is their top wax and much thicker than regular bottled waxes:

Give Adam a call and he will point you in the right direction Good Luck

You'll love the sound... especially after a number of months driving - that's when the burbles and pops start to really sound nasty. I had an EP2L for 2-3 years and was lucky to have Stef build me a custom PIPE. EuroPipe are all about exceptional hand built quality and service that is second to none. Congrats!
