Yah.....right!

Came across the write up on the MSN website and it's pretty obvious this guy hasn't even driven this car. He claims a 996 0-60 time is between 5 to 5.7 seconds. He also says the 996TT cab is designed after the 996 C4S cab. I thought that was the other way around. In his "cons" remarks, he put down "engine noise and cargo space. Engine noise?!!! What a *****! What about "cargo space"? If I wanted "cargo space", I would have bought a Caddy.

He says, "If the price seems too high, consider the 911 Turbo a good long-term investment."

Yeah, right.

Best review I've seen of the Turbo is at Autoweek - he captures some of the feeling of driving a Turbo.

"MORRISON: The 911 Turbo is absolutely worth the money. Never before have I so badly wanted to be rich. If I was, this is the first thing I would buy. Not the first car, the first thing period. Never before did I drive a car that comes close to this sort of performance. Maybe the Viper in terms of straight-shot acceleration, but as a package, the Turbo is in another universe. It really is just as enjoyable and comfortable toodling around at 45 mph as when you blaze your way deep into triple digits. And I mean DEEP. And at those speeds, the Porsche isn’t even breathing hard, and stability is almost beyond belief. I mean damn, I tried to take it easy, but in this car triple digits is taking it easy. And once you get there, the brakes squelch the speed just as fast as the motor produces. If Satan offered me one in exchange for my soul, I’d make the deal without hesitation—as long as I could still drive it upon arrival in the inferno. "

RAYNAL: What!?! No outside temperature gauge? Pitiful.

Kidding, folks. Here we have, in my opinion, the world’s best car. Need I explain why? It’s the perfect size, not too big, not too small. Performance is awe-inspiring (who can quibble with a just-over-four-second 0-to-60-mph time?), grip is ferocious, awd keeps it all in superb control and the brakes work like few you’ll ever feel. Just as impressive is the way the car is perfectly capable warbling around town. You can do your shopping, haul your kids and trundle slowly down side streets. I did all that, then went for a couple of blasts down the freeway. Awesome.

The things I like most: The car is like a Civic when you want it to be, and then offers supercar performance when you want that. It’s rare I feel a car is worth a six-digit price, but this one definitely is. Every penny.
