How To Adjust Engine Compartment Release?

For some strange reason when I engage the engine compartment release button near the driver's seat, the electronic release engages but the engine bay cover does not pop-up slightly anymore.

I need to lift the engine bay cover when somebody engages the button to open. Is there a way to adjust the cables or the latch?

TIA,
Adam

I might be the actual latch.. there are two bolts holding it down.
When I swapped out my wing for a Gemballa wing I had to do some adjustments as well.

Thanks. Can I adjust the latch and make the cable tighter? Maybe it is loose.

I dont think its the cable... u can open the rear lid... then use a screw driver to close the lock by pressing the hook connetecd to the wire inside the mechanism..... then have someone pull the button and u look to see if it opens the lock fully.. or does it get stuck half way... then u will know what the problem is... if not then its ur latch on the rear deck lid...
sorry for the poor explanation...

t2_996420 is infamous around these partst2_996420 is infamous around these parts
There are two round rubber stops/bumpers at the corner of the decklid that can be turned slightly to adjust the decklid (say if the lines of it when closed were slightly off with the bumper) - try twisting them a little (equal on each side) and see if that helps??? Just my 2 cents. T2

Great. Thanks guys for your help. I'll look into both of those suggestions. They both seem plausible.

Much appreciated,
Adam

I went out to the garage and adjusted the rubber stops. It now opens perfectly. Thanks again for your input.
