I personally know of one tuner who goes up to 7500 rmps on his tuning kits and thats on a stock motor.

Until just recently, increased rev limiters were only available for 6speeds. Now, both EVOMS and Protomotive can increase the rev limiter on Tips. Mine is North of 7k (the final number will be set on Monday).

There is far more involved than just the heads. The heads provide the required breathing. You also need the cams, tappets, cam holders etc.
I have seen stock turbo motor's taken to 7500 rpm's. However, you are shortening the motor life considerabily. Using the right rods, pistons, heads, cams and tappets will alow the motors to safely rev to 8700 plus.
