need help part 2

like i said before my customer didnt want to spend a fortune on a mapping program...do you think the upsolute is the right choice..i have spoken to a few guys that have said nothing but good things about the product, and also they have showed me a dyno sheet that it gave around 60-70 hp...i think this deal is great....what do you guys think...remember all he wants is more power...

not sure about that... although Upsolute is pretty good from what I've heard... but I still believe in "what you get is what you pay" thingy...

You can't go wrong with Giac, since it's been around for so long...
if he can afford a TT, I really think 3G isn't that much for 50HP gain (air filter & exhaust excluded), with exhaust and airfilter it's around 510HP that's 70HP gain.

I really think you should convince him to get a well-known trusted brand ^____^. the market price for ECU tuning of TT is always, and had always been 3G. (powerchip, Giac, Protomotive, etc etc)

There is nothing wrong with Upsolute. Best bang for the buck. If your friend does not want to spend alot of money and isn't interested in going past the Stage III equivilent, then go with Absolute.

hm... if he doesn't wanna spend 3G... I think Upsolute is the only way to go...
Upsolute is not bad, so far there doesn't seem to have too many negative statement towards them...(except for the first few customers who installed them, I belive they got it fixed)

Upsolute ECU and a fabspeed exhaust seem reasonable ^___^
I believe there are plenty of 2nd hand exhaust going around that he can get at a cheap price... that way... he'll get about 510HP with less than 3G spent. even 2G if you find a good price on used fabspeed.

i thought ecu+exhaust will give u around 510????

I thought for 540-550 u have to have k15 hybrid or k24??? i know this is the case with Giac...but not sure about upsolute...
I think they sell canned programing as well... don't think it'll generate that much of hp... unless they custom program it for the car i think....

luting_chen,

I am talking flywheel hp, not rear wheel. Does that clarify anything?

Andy you have answered your own question 3 times already with these posts -" My cutomer doesnt want to spend a lot of Money" .....

So obviously he is not going to spend the $$$ on the Giac so just do the Upsolute already

Aside from BPU'ing a Supra Turbo, the Upsolute chip for our Turbo is probably the best bang-for-buck mod I've ever seen. We are talking about ~100 reliable crank horsepower for $500... that's 1HP/$5... absolutely at the extreme end of bang-for-buck meter. Realize, some people spend $15~20k to add 250~300 crank HP... do the math for your customer if he wants to talk value.

Anyways, there's no point in beating a dead horse, I'd like to see anyone find a better valued mod for our Turbo. Based on your customer's requirements, it really couldn't be any clearer. With his exhaust, filter, and chip, he can go run down GT2s all day long. (Unless there's 10 ft of @#*!&*# snow/slush/ice outside like there is here).

Stepen
'01 Turbo Ti
