Bad timing, just sold my immaculate 02 M5 like 2-3 weeks ago with 30K in mods. Anyway, I think my friend is selling his 2000 M5, its silver black with a couple small mods (no engine work). Let me find out if he sold it yet, I will PM you.

i'd suggest to your buddy that he beat up the dealers. all the dealers now have new E39 M5s on the lot that aren't flying out anymore. with the new model a-coming, they are not going to want to sit on these things.

great car. sold mine in 2001 after 18 months and 18K miles for my 996TT. i just didn't need four doors and i moved out of the city..
