Three with generally good reps are Intercity, Passport/Fedex and DAS. I would expect the cost to be $1600-2000, depending on the fuel surcharge, if any. If you are in a hurry make sure you pin down the pickup and delivery times, my experience is that it often takes much longer than you expect due to the multiple stops they make.

this should get you off to a solid start. i don't know much about the ones that have the links posted except that competition and lee mar seem to have good reps.

i've personally dealt with Gary Almond and shipping with him is like having your best friend do it - extremely polite, knows what he's doing, treats your car with the utmost respect and is at the top of the list IMHO. unfortunately he's out of the country until 10/14 and he does not carry insurance for your vehicle so make sure it's ok with your carrier - i've never heard of it being a problem

that being said, there is another shipper that seems to be on par with Almond but he does not want his name revealed. if he can help you out, i'm sure he will contact you. i have nothing but good things to say about him so far. and please don't PM me asking me his name as i will not divulge it

I had my 996tt shipped from Michigan to So Cal by fedex passport for around $1800. Intercity was the same price, but fedex got the car to me quicker and they were very good.

Last year (Oct '05), I had my 996tt shipped from near Chicago, IL to Nthrn Nevada for $1200 in an enclosed trailer. Took 3 days from pickup to delivery, but I was the last to pick up, and the second to drop off (1st was in Utah). Took a while to find a carrier, though.
