Running 19" Wheels in the City

Hey Guys!

I've heard people having problems running 19" Wheels for their 996 for city driving. I have a set of TechArt 19" and i'm planning to install them next summer (i'm going to put my winter tires/rims soon). Is anybody running 19" wheels and driving in cities with lots of potholes (ex, NYC?). Any advise/experience would help! Thanks!

Don't want to run 19"s and have one of my rims crack/bend in the first week.

Regards,
Jason

make a small investment in the Smartire system. most of the wheel damages are from inderflated tires. Smatire has saved me a few times.

For your sake if you really are going to drive in NYC DO NOT I say DO NOT get 19 inch wheels unless you got Mobile Wheel Repair and the tow bed on Speed Dial and a spare set in the garage. The look is hot if you live where the roads aren't pure garbage. just think about it.... a tire bout an inch thick in the rear 25 profile. 18's are bad enough and the only reason the stocks dont get screwed is the fact they have no lip. IMO

You are saving yourself from a world of hurt, no matter how much you pay attention, potholes and other stuff will end up getting you in the longrun, not to mention the comfort factor.
