Tire & Rim Fitment Question

Hey!

Will 225/40 R18 fit on a 8.5*18mm and 265/35 R18 fit on a 18*10.5 wheel?

I think there is a online tool that u can use to see if a certain tire will fit on a certain wheel width, but i wasn't able to find it.

Thanks!!

Regards,
Jason

yellowturbo is infamous around these parts
They'll fit (tire section width will be wider than the wheel width in both cases).

However, why wouldn't you want at least 285 in the rear?

DANGER DANGER! Be very wary of
any online tire fitment calculators.

Please never use the 225x.45= 101mm style of formula ever, especially
for competition tires or for close fitment tolerances. Even for street tires
they are only approximate and for race tires they are less than a 'serving
suggestion'. I have seen two 245-45-16 street tires differ in diameter by
close to .5", from the *same* manufacturer! They were different model
tires.
All the online tire size calculators are based on the formula idea and
they are all very approximate as far as real tires are concerned. The only
way to know the real dimensions or recommended fitments of the tire is
to consult the vendor's tire spec sheet.
Hoosier used to make a DOT 305-30-18 tire. They don't anymore. They
now make a 315-30-18. *IT'S THE SAME TIRE*. This year they just decided
that all these years that tire's dimensions were actually closer to the
315-30-18 meaning than the 305-30-18 that they had been imprinting it
with, so they simply changed the lettering on the sidewall.
