TT Rear Seat Removal

Has anybody done this, I guess its a reasonably simple procedure, can't see any point of keeping them in there and I sure it will only assist in being able to hear the engine more now the soundproofing is dog gone

As I recall from when I installed my rollbar you pull up on the black cover in the middle that holds the pivot and you will find the fastener for the center. If you unbolt that the upper parts will come out easily. The bottoms in my "02 were velcro, but I left them in to set stuff on. I was thinking of ordering the rear seat removal kit, but for the money I can put up with it for now. I still have not removed the shoulder belts yet either. Perhaps a good winter project.

Good luck Roger

My car has had the rear seats removed and especially with the GT3 seats, it doesn't make sense to have seats back there (I'd hate to have someone scratch up the painted seats from the back).

The rear seat delete package helps clean up the interior quite a bit.

By the way, can people without the rear seats post up pictures? I'm trying to figure out how to get it a little bit tidier since the bolts for the rear shocks are currently visible on the car. I'll post my pic this evening.

Where does one purchase a rear seat removal kit? Is it OEM?

It is OEM (on GT2 and GT3)

The carpet kit is one thing...but what I was talking about is Porsche - rear seat removal parts #000 044 801 63 - from what I could figure out includes parts to cover seat belt bolts, center pivot, etc. If someone has a better source for the parts description please speak up because I am looking for winter projects.

I removed my rear seats and left the belts and lower pads - looks clean and was very easy to do. I'll try and get some picks but I would suggest just try it - if you don't like just put 'em back. Really is easy once you start. I think a kit is a waist of money - IMHO.

Ok so thks did this today, nice thing is that within the car you can really appreciate the classic 911 shape more, hear the engine more and see the "Turbo" logo in the rear interior as you approach the car from outside

the kit is good if you really want that GT2/3 look, but is really unnessesary...it took me about 15-20min to take out the seats, and really cleaned it up. I also took out the seatbelt buckles, and kind of tucked the belt buckle heads inside the oval holes, looks like i took them out, but i really didnt...

Rear seats are out and the roll cage blocks the rear area so you cant see anything anyway!
