Is the GT700 worth it?

I already have the basics, an X50 with a couple of mods they add up to a stage 4 more or less. I just need the turbo's & a few things for the GT640.
Is the GT700 worth the xtra cash? Is it that much of a difference in power?
Reliability? Once you hit that stage, internals are recommended, again is it
worth it? Those that have had the GT640 & GT700 whats the deal?
Thanks

Hey Top gun if you already have credit from stage4 then the kit is absolutely worth it. I honestly think the car drives smoother with the garrett hybrid turbos. Best bet is to get a ride in one or even drive it. Its night and day. Lets just say wheel spin is in your near future if this is the question running htrough your head. Good Luck. Over 100 gt700's World wide already.

I have been running my GT700 for well over a year and half now with stock internals...and yes I drive my car like it is meant to be driven. A set of MPS2 315's last me about 7K KM's.

I may do the internals when I get to about 30K miles, I am at 33K KM at the moment. I went straight to the GT700 and I am very happy ...do it!

Top gun, "worth it" is a matter of choice, and is very subjective. If you want to maximize your car's potential and need all the HP then it is. Keep in mind that if you go 640 the 700 will be an esay upgrade. Like Suman said best bet is riding in both and hopefully getting a chance to drive them.

Sounds logical, do the 640, when you get use to the power then go for the 700. Then you get use to the 700! Then what?

Well, I'm getting ready to move up from stage 4 to GT700. The only problem so far at stage 4 that I can't seem to rectify is when I hit full boost at 1.2BAR or so in second gear, my Metallica CD's start skipping. Even without wheelspin. Is that a GIAC software glitch or just too much G-force for the stock CD player?

If you're trying to be logical by justifying whether it is 'worth it', there really is no need for anything more than a Stage 4 (or even a stock x50 for that matter). As always, there is the whole 'diminishing returns' issue...

However, if you want more....then whatever you want to spend. Some people think past the GT640/700 cars because it's not enough. It's you who will determine what is enough. If you feel you're car needs something else, go for the upgrade.

My current car is at the GT640 level and I can assure you that I will not be looking for more power for the car. It's hard enough disciplining my right foot not to step on it in normal driving.

is it worth it? it depends on what your car background is. relatively, it's a lot of money for the horsepower when compared to other cars.

objectively, i took my dad for a ride on Sat. this is a big-block chevy kind of guy who used to drag race while i was growing up. when i punched it, he was absolutely giddy - like a kid - like me in my friend's 430 a month ago. i could not stomp on it enough for him - we drove about 200 miles, 1/2 of those runs from 40-120/130/140.... he's still a bit upset b/c we haven't hit 6th gear yet

the mom-test will be tomorrow...
