I thought it was generally accepted that GT2 boxes are not reinforced, the only differnce is the steel syncros... this was nothing but an Urban Myth.

I wonder why 300M was selected as a new material. Its is used in landing gear and is very strong (280 ksi steel). But its notorious with respect to hydrogen embrittlement and stress corrosion cracking. The shotpeening helps but don't make it go away.

KA is bullet proof from motor to tranny, to axles, to driveshaft, to front and rear differencials.

Tranny has all beefed up gears, syncros, oilers and oil cooler.

Markski,

I'm in no rush, but do you know when I'll be getting my axles back?
