Boost gauge, how much to see on X50 and at what revs?
New to Turbo Forum as I just picked up a Black/Black '03 X50 6 speed with just under 4K miles on it! Questions I have, even though it is now too cold to check it out, are:
-What % BAR should I be seeing on gauge at various rpms and gears? Does it restrict boost in certain gears and does it climb progressively toward power peak revs?
-How long does it take for the all-wheel drive mechanism to react to power-on traction loss at the back? Is it normal for it to allow for some tail out action before smoothly transferring power to the front?
Coming from a barely broken-in '03 C2 Coupe, this Turbo is such a monster in the power department. But it acts so different in ride, clutch action, and feel. Had driven them before, but when it is your baby it sure sticks out how coold these things are!
Thanks for the tips!
Kevin
P.S.: I'll try to post a pic or two. I advertised some PSE's a minute ago in the F/S section and my upload didn't take for some reason. Using iPhoto and I can't seem to reduce photo size easily - will research.

Cant help you with the X50 questions, but I can save you a headache from iPhoto. Unfortunately there is no resize option available. I know its completely retarded since that is one of the most commonly used features, but it just doesnt have one. If you dont have photoshop or anything else the quickest work around I found is to email yourself the picture from iPhoto. It will ask you what size, small, medium, large, or original you want to send.
I tried searching through all the help documents but apparently its just not included.

Thank you very much! I thought of doing that, but never considered it would be the right way. Seriously thought I was just missing a command or button to push - crazy!

Nice car...looks a lot like mine
I see 0.9 bar max boost; but not in all gears. Sometimes it only hits 0.7-0.8 at WOT in gears 3 and 4; other times it hits 0.9. I've even seen 1.0 bar flash when its really cold out.

Awais, is pretty accurate and reflects my findings also. Remember it varies with rpm, and builds. Also varies with ambient conditions.
The PSM works all wheels all the time to my knowledge, and in case you where wondering , keep it on!!
I use photobucket. very easy, just use the brower, upload, copy the IMG file and paste where you want, even I could do it!!
