Rear Fog Light issue

Is there anyway to install a second rear foglight? I have turned on my rear foglight 3 times, but 2 of which I got pulled over, because some cop thought one of my break lights were out. In my RS6, there is 2 fogs - one for each side.

Has anyone installed a second one?

I agree - ask Loren or Tool Pants at Renntech as I remeber someone doing a second foglight...you have to run a wire from rear driver light to rear passenger light...

StephenTi's dad got pulled over for having xenon lights, and was ticketed. He had a small article on this in Car and Driver magazine. I think the midwest cops need to be updated with new technologies.

I recall seeing an item on the PCA tech board about this. I think the right side has the socket and maybe even a bulb in place. A brake light out? What did you do - stop the with your left foot dragging out the door? Assuming you stopped for the cop while s/he was still behind you, using the brake pedal as most of us try to do, the real brake lights would have come on! Ah, our ever-vigilant law enforcement officers! Well, I guess by the time they had their lights flashing they had to complete the stop.

Re: Rear Fog Light issue

Were you using the rear fog because it was foggy out? Or were you just being cool? Everything I've read on why there is just one convinces me it wouldn't be safe (or in any case it would be pointless) to have both sides light.

(shows one in their photo illustration)

The reason the car is set up for both is to simplify outfitting the car for RHD.

It was foggy, with thick snow flakes. But I though I was cool anyway.

Shank,
Note that I edited my post with some links. Maybe you could educate the local law enforcement? All cops should know about them, as they are becoming more common. The cop should note the third brakelight to decide you are using your brakes.
