Unhappy 2nd Gear Pop-Out...hmph.

Without a full understanding of the phenomenon, I think I may have experienced my first "hint" of SGPO Friday afternoon.

I was decelerating, in 2nd gear, at say 20mph, downhill, approaching a red light, when the shifter just popped out of gear.

It hasn't happened since, and the car has shifted normally.

Is this the equivalent of "early detection" of a much bigger problem? Or is SGPO no worse than that?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

VB

Thats it. Not really a big deal. Gets annoying though. Get an aftermarket warranty asap!

2nd gear popping out -- welcome to the club

Welcome to the club. Thanks to you, this issue now has its own acronym: 'SGPO'.
Remember when you take it to the dealer that you only drove it to church on Sundays and lawn bowling on Mondays. Don't tell them about the track days, stage 4 mods, drag races, etc ...

So...if the dealership asks..."GT700" is my anti-perspirant.

There is a thread about this above. However, the dealership told me it would get worse, and they were right. Mine started the same way with just popping out once in a while, but then it got to about 95% of the time. Took about 4-5 months to get that bad.
