Alex,

I can only offer my opinion. Remember ........ opinions are worth exactly what they cost. It appears Markski's higher lift offset your better breathing heads by about 80 hp. Looking at your head flow versus his, I believe you could pick up an additional 120 hp with your heads and Markski's cam setup (additional 80 for stock GT3 intake cam plus 40 for your additional head work.) You would also pick up time (using the GT3 intake) in any contest where the contest required you to start acceleration below the point where the 996tt vario cam has moved to the higher cam lobes.

If you were to use our profiled GT3 cams I believe you could see an additional 30 hp throughout the usable rpm spectrum and an additional 50 hp from 5000 rpm's and above.

Congradulations Markski.
So IF you run 2.0 bar of boost with your setup, north of 1200 whp is possible?

My motor is so efficient that I don't need that much boost. Im able to produce HP levels at much lower boost. It's all about efficiency.

Yeah, I've noticed how efficient it is. Even more than VR's.
With larger injectors and C16, what would be the max. boost you can run (like VR's "kill" mode) and what would be an estimated whp?
Thanks.

VR's set up is exactly the same except the heads... guys dont misunderstand me... VR's has insane heads... one of a kind work... Craig as well...
I dare not to say I have more HP... to me it does not matter....

Yes, the cams relly help and this thing is liek a NA car... Im actually very shocked. VR and I have the biggest Injectors available... unless u go custom...
im running out of fuel at 1.5 bars... and thats where we stop.

Markski,

The lower boost has it's advantages. People tend to forget when these motors set up for approx. 450 hp run ***** out for 24 hours become junk at he end of the race. Think of how long they will last with doubling plus the power. Yes, I realize we don't consistemtly push them that hard on the street, but my guess is motors like these driven on the street will have a life of 20-30K miles before teardown. A motor capable of 1200-1500 hp would probably only go 8-15K before a required teardown.

I'm confused, I thought Alex's car put down 915hp @ the wheels with 1.5 bar and 1040hp@ the wheels on kill mode(higher than 1.5 bar)?

See it as it left Protomotive, nothing to say it wasn't changed after. www.geocities.com/protomotive/ It is the last graphs shown.

Rob,
Todd K will be making JCV's custom program.
Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking the stock head and doing magic to it... maintaining the cams as well. \

In my car The camshaft actually follows the
throttle plate. As you press it down, it advances the cam for that nice
torquey feel, then as the rpms climb, it retards them for the high rpm power stuff... thast why it does not feel like a TT with any lag... This is also possible because my car is running GT3 software that has alot more functions when it comes to tuning(Todd told me).
I was driving around city at 2 K rpms and the TQ is right there.... just like in a NA porsche... I freaked out..

rob,

We made these cams ................... six times to be exact. Every edition was tested and additional changes made. The last one is in production and I was told yesterday that it will be finished before 1-10-07. The reason for the additional time is the coatings. We lose about two weeks for this process.

They will be available and most likely copied. Nothing we can do about it. These cams will not work on turbo heads/cam housings (well the exhaust cam would). The intake will not fit in turbo cam housings. It is too big. No GT3 type intake cam will fit in a turbo cam housing. Yes, it requires a special ecu program. The turbo program is designed for five cam marker points. That is the number of points on the turbo cam. The GT3 cam has three points. These marker points are how the cam conveys information to the ECU.

As for costs, my guess would be somewhere around $5,000.00 for the four cams.

Protomotive has done my tuning since 2002.

"Wrong" may not be a good choice of words. Rather there has been a progression over time. Less than a year ago, enlarging turbo ports and valves was the hot ticket. Each progression brings with it a larger price tag along with shorter periods between motor teardowns. There are different stages or progressions because people are different and looking for different things.

You start getting past 650 rwhp with these motors and the margin of time difference is minimal. In addition, engine life is severely reduced.
