Agreed. I believe Alex's car, Markski's car, and my car (when complete) will all be able to walk a Veyron fairly easily up to thier top speeds.

Also, on top of what you already mentioned, 996TT's also have better drag coefficient than the Veyron does.

The CTR was the second quickest car there on the day, however the group i was with have some mclaren f1 GTR's so maybe those could keep up from 50kmh to 210kmh or so...

Thanks again for all the comments guys, im so glad you liked the videos even though the quality is utter crap, i also think these are the first videos of a Bugatti racing a fast car on the net

A Veyron does 140 mph in the 1/4 mile bone stock on pump gas and is smog legal. Has there ever been a 996TT do that? I love my 996TT, but the only way its going to run with a Veyron is with a JATO rocket strapped to the roof!

The Veyron is an animal, no doubt. It should be...as it has 4 turbos strapped to a 8L, 16-cylinder engine.

I'm just saying that there are a few TT's out there will put a hurtin' on one.

But yes, you are correct that none of them will do it on 93 octane.

Someone needs to get one, upgrade the turbos and run race gas!

Thanks for posting this vid. It's interesting to see some comparison to the Veyron. The performance of the CTR compared to the newer cars is still unbelievable though.

I have yet to see a 996tt that will put any sort of a hurting on Veyron. Cars that are under construction are mere speculation, not to mention the Veyron accomplishes its times on street tires, being smog and emissions legal.

There's only been on street race on video that I'm aware of. And it was the CTR. Alex's car is not under construction, and no longer is Marks. They will both beat a Veyron.

A 1,000 HP TT makes the same power, weighs 1,000 lbs less (Veyron weighs over 4,500 lbs, as you can see below), has a better drag coefficient, and the RWD TT's have less drivetrain loss. You can't deny physics.

As far as the street tires comment, both Alex's and Marks car run street tires...but yes, we already dicusssed the fuel earlier in the thread.
