Does anyone know the total time or number of laps available with the built in 128Mb memory?
How about a sample printout of what a typical lap looks like with the data overlayed?
Is the gps accurate enough to draw a pic of the track? Accurate enough to see if the car is on the inside or outside of the track?
My interest is in using the gps for DEs - comparing my and my codriver's laps.

I have what you are looking for. It's Performance Box data showing a lap at the Silverstone National Circuit in England. It seems to be inexorably linked to Google Earth. I have tried to get it to appear in my reply, but don't have the computer savy to do so. There is no address bar while it is running in Google Earth, so I can't copy and paste. I also put it on my desktop and did a right click/copy, but it will not allow me to paste it in this reply.

If you haven't already done so, you will need to download the free version of Google Earth.
http://download.earth.googlepages.co...oogleearthhere

When that is in place, PM me and hopefully I can forward the attachment to you.

BTW, with a 64mb card in place I believe the owner's manual says it will record 50 hrs of data. If you want to peruse the owners manual, here it is.

Enjoy.

I'm interested, but can any one tell me what "drift mode" does? Seems to be a pretty big feature given the $250 difference between the two units. The web site is not very clear on this feature, or at least the differences between the two units.

Also, was on the Trackvision (www.trackvision.net) site and didn't see VBOX as one of the supported data loggers-could be wrong, wasn't there very long. If not, is there a similar program that works with the VBOX units?

Thanks in advance ,

Alex

Drift mode is a slip angle sensor that calculates the vehicles drift in degrees and gives you a score... Not worth it except for, well...drifting. Kevin

David, you can make a track map of any location and save it for later use...it does require an external antenna and the cooperation of the event organizers. You would need to do 2 parade laps.. put the external ant on the roof closest to the drivers side as possible...run a lap with the car on the edge of the pavement or outside line... do the next lap with the antenna on the pass side and run a lap on the inside line...you now have a track map that can be used to overlay individual laps... The unit is great for real time running at roadcourses... you can set start/finish and up to 6 sectors of your choice. You can display current time at sectors/time ahead or behind best lap/ or corner entry speed as well... All this data can be looked at later and any of the sectors can be changed as well on the download for a different perspective...Kevin

Bill....Thanks.

Kevin,

If I'm not mistaken, that Silverstone file I have from Jim is just some lat/long data interfacing with Google Earth and its lat/long data. I don't think any parade laps were done on left side/right side of the track.
