For those who have painted lower panels
For those who have painted lower panels
Have you removed the lower panels to have painted, or taken the car to the body shop to have it done? What about durability (lower side skirts and rear)?
Thanks,
Scott

I believe the rears do not come off unless you want to do some serious work, but the sides do. As for durability the sides hold up really well but the rears you can forget about becuase of rock chips.
my rears have held up quite nicely...I only had one rock chip but touched it up..The rears although they look like they come off DO NOT!!!
See my sig...I got sideskirts and lip painted from factory as part of the aerokit so the bumperettes and lower rear bumper were the only non-painted parts and looked like crap...All NA 996s come with bumoerettes painted (except C4S) so I do not know why their top models dont?

msindi,
My car is Arctic Silver, I would rather not have the rear bumpers at all. However, I like the contrasting black over the painted ones. For some reason, the painted ones never blend in properly. It might just be the paint on the rubber texture that I don't like. The rest of the painted to match items look great.
